The eMbalenhle police are searching for an alleged bogus taxi driver who raped a 16-year-old girl.

She is now eight months pregnant.

Along the way, the driver told her he urgently needed to collect people at gate eight near Roodebank. He promised to drop her off at home upon their return, and she agreed.

Mthethwa said the victim claimed when the minibus arrived at gate eight, the driver parked it in an open field, got out and opened the girl’s door.

He forced her from the taxi, covered her mouth, pushed her to the ground and raped her.

According to the Mthethwa, the victim is now eight months pregnant. The victim is able to point out her rapist should she see him again. Mthethwa said a rape case was opened, but no arrests have been made.
