Police arrest alleged drug peddlers in Standerton CBD

The Standerton Police arrested three suspects in the CBD on September 14 for possessing substances believed to be drugs.

According to a statement from the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, police were conducting normal stop-and-search operations.

The police seized 23 sachets believed to be nyaope and 10 believed to be crystal meth for further investigation.

All three suspects were expected to appear in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on September 15.

The provincial commissioner of the SAPS, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, asked the community to work with the police to curb drug circulation in society.

“Drug peddlers are destroying our communities,” Manamela said.
