Show officially opened at Standerton Show Grounds
The main sponsor, Bayer, sent their representatives and the Lekwa Municipality was represented by MMC Sipho Majozi, MMC Phindile Mahlaba and MMC Seipati Modise.
René Pretorius, president of the show committee, did the honours of officially welcoming everybody to the Standerton Show.

Pastor Pat van der Westhuizen briefly gave a spiritual message.
“We are blessed to have this show,” he said.
He referred to the work of the committee and mentioned their contribution. “Being on this committee is not ‘kinderspeletjies’.”
He added the community will pick the fruit of their labour.
He said a prayer afterwards.
A bottle of champagne was opened and Jan Saaiman of Bayer cut the ribbon.
