Secunda teacher earns doctoral degree

Iyioluwa Raji is passionate about life and furthering his studies.

Iyioluwa Raji has taught mathematics and mathematics literacy at Curro Secunda for the last two years.

He was born in Nigeria and finished high school and his first degree (in geology) in his home country before relocating to SA.

He furthered his studies while he worked as a teacher in Limpopo and Mafikeng and completed his master’s degree in environmental science and management in 2018.

He moved to Secunda and began teaching at Curro Secunda last January, and will receive his doctoral degree in October.

Raji sees himself as the director of his own environmental company in 10 years.

“I believe my determination and discipline triggered me to study further, and with more education, more opportunities will come,” said Raji.

In his free time, he enjoys listening to music, swimming and reading his Bible and novels.
