Tutela in Secunda puts needy first
The NPO sheds light on its projects that reach out to the less fortunate.
Tutela NPO held its AGM at the NG Kerk Secunda-Oos on September 13.
One of the social workers for Tutela, Florentia Moloi, spoke about the areas they covered and gave statistics of how many people they had helped.
“We had 84 new cases last year and they came from the public, schools, churches and the police,” said Moloi.
Many of these cases featured child abuse and neglect.
Tutela provides food to about 40 families weekly with the donations they receive from places like churches, grocery shops and others.
They also have a free love clothing shop on the premises. Tutela sells the clothes that are donated to raise money to help support needy families with food.
The staff at Tutela spoke about the projects they hosted last year and earlier this year, which include the My Body is Mine project in Bethal, the Winter Drive project, the Empower Women’s Conference and a holiday programme for underprivileged children.
They thanked their sponsors and those who supported them by donating or contributing in other ways.
