Motorist warns others about car jammers in Secunda

The victim decided to investigate and obtained CCTV footage of the suspicious car and occupants.

Motorists in Secunda are being warned to watch out for car jamming in the central business district.

According to a person, who wants to remain anonymous, he recently parked his car in the CBD and locked it with the remote.

When he returned, he found that some of his belongings were stolen out of the vehicle.

The man asked people in the parking lot if they had seen anything to which one person said he saw a man exiting a car with a bag just as the victim was locking his vehicle.

The victim decided to investigate and obtained CCTV footage of the suspicious car and occupants.

“I believe they are the criminals who are targeting unsuspected people in the CBD. They jam the immobilisers to steal items from the cars.”

He has since opened a case at the Secunda Police Station and also gave the police the video footage.

According to the victim, the police tracked down the owner of the vehicle shown in the footage.

“The police went to owner’s home, but he denies that the vehicle had been used to travel anywhere on that specific day.”
