Goat-carrying cop van from eMba raises eyebrows

Residents complained previously that vans are not available in eMbalenhle.

A bakkie from the eMbalenhle Police Station was spotted at the Bethal Mall this afternoon, October 20, with a goat in the back of the vehicle.

The sight raised many eyebrows.

Earlier this month community members shared their concerns with the Mpumalanga Safety, Security and Liaison MEC, Vusi Shongwe, and the police deputy Minister, Cassel Mathale, over the shortage of police vehicles to attend to complaints in eMbalenhle.

Residents claimed that when they go to the station to report cases, they are told that no van is available to attend to their complaints.

Colonel Donald Mdhluli, provincial police spokesman, promised to respond later.
