Former Secunda lad dances at Diwali Festival in New Zealand

Former Secunda lad Yeshen Govender (14) danced at the Diwali Festival in New Plymouth, New Zealand, on November 18.

Although he did not attend any formal dance school, Yeshan represented Oranjegloed Primary School at an inter-school and inter-provincial level for Dancesport South Africa.

He obtained his provincial colours in dance for Mpumalanga in 2020 and 2022.

He now shows off his proudly South African Indian dance culture to the world.

Yeshen and his parents, Vivasen and Sasha, immigrated to New Zealand last November due to better work opportunities.
