Support this initiative in Secunda to help babies and children
The Ligdraers (Lightbearers) are embracing their 30km a day walk that started on May 5 until May 10.
Tree-Seeds Foundation, a non-profit organisation based in Secunda, and the Ligdraers are working on one of the biggest projects yet.
In collaboration with the SAVF Secunda Child and Youth Care Centre, they want to erect a built-in baby saver. This will allow a mother to anonymously and safely leave an infant in a box-like structure built into a wall and not dump the baby in a gutter.
The Ligdraers (Lightbearers) are embracing their 30km a day walk that started on May 5 until May 10. This project will continue to run over six months.
Money raised will go towards this built-in baby saver at the SAVF Secunda Child and Youth Care Centre, expanding the SAVF baby safe house and the SAVF House Exodus in Trichardt.
Funds will also go towards supporting families with Neurodivergent children via workshops for parents and teachers with children on the neurodiverse spectrum.
Pensioners Johan and Hendrik Keyser will walk 30km a day until May 10, by which time they aim to have completed 150km.
The community, businesses and schools are asked to support this fundraising event. The pensioners will be walking in Secunda and Trichardt to visit your premises for a photo opportunity and pledges. EFT is preferred.
Your sponsorship will go towards the built-in baby saver, expanding the SAVF baby safe house for 10 infants aged 0 to 12 months and the House Exodus in Trichardt, which accommodates six young post-matric orphans.
The needs for this project are the following:
- Modification of offices into a house
