Emergency services responded to a fire that broke out in a flat on a property at 29 Pietersburg Street Evander.

The fire broke out at around 04:00 this morning, August 1.

One person sustained burn injuries and another was killed.

It is not known how the fire broke out. A preliminary investigation is underway.

Emergency services handed the scene over to SAPS.
