Secunda police conducted Operation Basadi on August 26 along the road between Secunda and eMbalenhle, where women in blue distributed crime prevention pamphlets, conducted a roadblock and carried out stop-and-search operations.

The operation was part of broader Women’s Month activities aimed at highlighting the contribution of women in law enforcement while strengthening efforts to keep communities safe.

Colonel Nomakhwezi Vena-Sigo said the joint operation was not only about enforcing the law, but also provided an chance to recognise the contribution of women working in law enforcement.

She said the initiative was aimed at encouraging women to continue playing an active role in promoting safety, enforcing the law and serving their communities.
