COMPLETE ARTICLE – Athletes face icy temperatures during parkrun

The records for both men and women were smashed during the 23rd parkrun on 11 August.

An unknown athlete broke the men’s record and completed the distance in 17 min 32 sec, while Chrizelle Roberts finished for the women in 19 min 58 sec.

Altogether 102 athletes took part in the weekly event at the River Park.

“We would like to remind willing participants to always have their registration tags,” Ms Fadeela Omar, event organiser, said.
