There is a twist in the ‘trail’ in weekly parkrun

A total of 106 athletes took part in the weekend's event, with 23 volunteers.

Athletes navigated a wet course during the weekly parkrun at the Standerton River Park on 8 September.

There was however, a twist in the “trail”, with the course being reversed.

With the help of Standerton Trapklub’s Francois Streicher, guiding runners along the path, it was a walk in the park for most.

A total of 106 athletes took part in the weekend’s event, with 23 volunteers.

Nhlakanipho Tshabalala set a new male record for finishing the course in a time of 17 min 20 sec, followed by an unknown athlete in 17 min 32 sec.
