SECUNDA – Sasol 1 beat Sasol 2 on Saturday, 20 October in a Premier Cricket League match at the Sasol Recreation Club.
Sasol 1 was sent in to bat first and scored 129 runs.
Sasol 1 bowled Sasol 2 out for only 56 runs. George Louw was Sasol 1’s best batsman with 56 runs.
Michael Rossouw was Sasol 2’s best bowler with three wickets in four overs for 21 runs.
Siya Mahima took three wickets for just two runs in four overs.
The second game in the Premier league saw Sasol 2 biting the dust against Ermelo Frogs.
Ermelo scored 180/6 in their 20 overs and Sasol 2 only managed to score 116 in return and lost the match with 64 runs.
The third game in the Premier league was when Sasol 1 faced Ermelo. Sasol 1 sent Ermelo in to bat first and bowled them out for just 50 runs.
Ignus Koekemoer was the best bowler with three for 17 in four overs.
Sasol 1 chased the score in 6.3 overs with George Louw scoring the best again with 32 from 19 balls.
Sasol Secunda won the Gert Sibande T20 and will play in the Mpumalanga final round this weekend in the Nkangala District.
In the Promotion League, Sasol Academy played against eMbalenhle on Saturday, 20 October and made 280/6 in their 50 overs.
JP Bruwer was Sasol’s best batsman with 80 runs.
Sasol bowled eMbalenhle out for 136 runs. The best bowler was Johan van Antwerpen with two for 14 in seven overs.
Sasol 3 tackled the Ermelo Frogs on Sunday, 21 October and bowled Ermelo out for 145 runs.
Nicus Boshoff and Damian Barnard took five wickets and Sasol managed to chase the score down in a nail biter, winning with only one wicket.
Gert Swanepoel was Sasol’s best batsman with 33 runs.
