African Eagles beat Classic by 1-0 in Lekwa Football League

Unnecessary fouls also summarised the first half with both teams lucky not to concede a caution from the referee.

African Eagles FC soared the highest to outclass Classic FC at the Basement Grounds on 25 November.

African Eagles got the ball rolling during kick-off  and lost the ball almost immediately.

Classic FC had the first chance of the match where all they had to do was to put the ball in the back of the net, but that was not to be, as the ball hit the woodwork twice.

African Eagles struggled to put five touches together with the momentum on Classic’s side.

By the 10th minute of the match, Classic had already missed more than five clear-cut chances to take the lead.

The fans called for an early substitution since they were not pleased with goal-scoring chances going a begging.

Unnecessary fouls also summarised the first half with both teams lucky not to concede a caution from the referee.

During the second half, momentum shifted in African Eagles’ favour and they made it count when scoring a goal in the 65th minute.

Classic did not take that lying down as they created chances to equalise, to no avail.

The match ended with African Eagles taking three points and becoming the subsequent log leaders.
