Club honours eMbalenhle wrestlers
Mr Johan van den Berg, President of the Mpumalanga Wrestling Federation, said it was the first time that a prize giving was held for Sasol eMbalenhle Wrestling Club and this club has some brilliant wrestlers.
Wrestlers of Sasol eMbalenhle Wrestling Club were awarded for their hard work during the year last night (18 December) during the club’s prize giving.
Mr Johan van den Berg, President of the Mpumalanga Wrestling Federation, said it was the first time that a prize giving was held for Sasol eMbalenhle Wrestling Club and this club has some brilliant wrestlers.
“We will be hosting a tournament in eMbalenhle next year and we want the community to come and see what wrestling is all about,” said Mr Van den Berg.
“That what you see on television is not wrestling, that is entertainment, what we do here is wrestling.”
He thanked Mr Theunis Nel of the Unicor Wrestling Club in Bethal, for arranging the prize giving.
The wrestlers who received trophies are Thabiso Ngwenya (Best Beginner, Heart of a Lion Trophy), Mojalifa Mdluli (Best U/13 wrestler), Mfundo Skosana (Best U/15 wrestler), Collen Msiza (Best U/17 wrestler), Lucas Ngwenya, the coach who is also a wrestler, received the trophy for the Best Senior Wrestler and Sihlle Msomi and Lucky Mtahung received medals for participation.
