Rising Stars FC stay on top of the GMM Soccer League
The league is still young with many more matches to be played until 11 May when the champions will be crowned.
KINROSS – The Govan Mbeki Promotion U/19 Soccer League continued on Saturday, 12 January in Kinross and eMbalenhle.
A total of eight matches were played with Rising Stars FC sitting at the top of the log with 25 points and Argitators FC tying with Sasol Juventus for second place on 22 points.
The league is still young with many more matches to be played until 11 May when the champions will be crowned.
It was an unfortunate day for the XI Experience FC who did not see the back of the net against Phezulu FC who finished on a high with two goals.
Phezulu FC is not far behind the top 10 spot on the log, and with the consistency and pace of Saturday’s match, that spot is not too far to reach.
Argitators FC served Premeria FC players a hard beating with three goals to nil.
Siphelele Nokhubeni of Coboyi FC gave the Young Stars FC defenders a tough time during their match resulting in Coboyi FC winning with a score of 3-2.
Home Boys FC who is currently sitting at the bottom of the log, lost their match against Shining Stars FC who kicked two goals past their goalkeeper.
Sasol Juventus FC and Prosper The Legacy FC drew 2-2 at the eMbalenhle Sasol Club.
Future matches for Prosper The Legacy FC who will face Rising Stars on Saturday, 19 January at Vukuzithathe Grounds, will be of utmost importance as they will have to defend their top 10 position.
Zone Two FC gave Evander Academy FC a run for their money with a 3-1 score.
The Stars FC lost to Yizo Yizo FC with a score of 0-1.
Current leaders on the log, Rising Stars FC lost by one goal against Sasol Thistle Grove FC who booted four goals into the net giving the other teams hope for the top spot.
The 16 team-league continues on Saturday, 19 January at eMbalenhle soccer grounds in Ext 12 and 18; and Chris Hani- and Vukuzithathe and Mayisela grounds.
Evander Academy FC will host Sasol Juventus FC at Evander Sentrum Park.
All games will be played at 1pm, with the exception on the Prosper The Legacy versus Rising Stars FC match that will begin at 3pm.
