Sasol 1 and 2 face off in cricket match

Sasol 1 made 303 runs for nine wickets in 50 overs

SECUNDA – Siya Mahima starred as Sasol’s top runs scorer this weekend when he not only performed well for the Mpumalanga Rural provincial team, but also scored 78 runs in a home match between the two teams of Sasol.

Mahima and his two teammates from Sasol, Colin van Staden and George Louw, played for Mpumalanga’s rural team in their match against Northern Cape Rural at the Sasol Secunda Cricket Club on Saturday.

Mpumalanga won with eight wickets, bowling out Northern Cape for 43 runs.

Cricket at the Sasol Secunda Cricket Club was played in high spirits when the first and second teams faced each other on the cricket pitch on Sunday.

Sasol 1 won the draw and went in first to bat.

The team made 303 runs in 50 overs and lost nine wickets.

Mahima scored a whopping 78 runs for his team. Dewald Erasmus made 63 runs.

Michael Rossouw felled four wickets.

Sasol 2 scored a mere 73 runs, all out.

Douglas Richardson made 27 runs.

Gerald Ngwenyama and Ruhan Delport both took four wickets.

Sasol Griffons and Sasol Academy lost against the Bethal Bears Old Boys in the promotional league.
