Mpumalanga Titans bow to KZN’s women

The Titans faced the KZN Coastal Open women’s team on the Sasol Secunda Cricket Club’s main pitch in a full match on Saturday, 23 February, and again in a T20 game on Sunday, 24 February

SECUNDA – The Mpumalanga Titans women’s cricket team struggled for runs in their two games against the tough visitors from KwaZulu-Natal.

The Titans faced the KZN Coastal Open women’s team on the Sasol Secunda Cricket Club’s main pitch in a full match on Saturday, 23 February, and again in a T20 game on Sunday, 24 February.

The locals went in to bat first on Saturday and managed to scrape together a mere 50 runs in 23 overs all out. The visitors reached the bar in their seventh over with eight wickets to spare.

The T20 game went slightly better for the Titans who again went in first.

The Titans scored 81 runs for eight wickets in their limited 20 overs.

KZN reached this mark in their 16th over and won the match by six wickets.
