SECUNDA – Sasol will be hosting its 13th sports weekend at their various Sasol community centers and other local sports grounds from 5 to 7 April.
Sasol, through its community centres, has created a platform for aspirant athletes around the Govan Mbeki Municipal (GMM) area and beyond to showcase their talent during the annual sports weekend.
The sports weekend is a Sasol initiative that was established in 2007 with an aim to encourage employees and community members to actively participate in sport.
Through this competition the company also promotes local talent and different sporting codes. It is also a platform for talent scouts to identify talent that can be developed within the GMM communities.

The event is free and open to sport clubs and individuals in and around Mpumalanga.
In the past, the event also attracted a variety of teams from other provinces.
The sporting codes and activities planned during this event are: chess, aerobics and wellness, basketball, boxing, cricket (juniors and seniors), cross country, handball, karate, netball and rugby (juniors and seniors), soccer (juniors and seniors), softball, tennis (juniors and seniors), table tennis, and volleyball.
