Swim school hosts annual worldwide Aquathon in Secunda

The swim school also raised money for charity. The money raised in Secunda will be donated to the Lake Umuzi Charity Fund.

SECUNDA – Local water enthusiasts showed how much endurance they have on Saturday, 9 November at Aquazone at Lake Umuzi when they took part in the annual worldwide Aquathon.

The Aqua Antics Swim School and Water Fitness Classes hosted the Aquathon for the fourth time in Secunda.

Worldwide, this year was the seventh Aquathon and it consisted of a three-hour marathon of water aerobics to promote and create awareness of the benefits of aqua fitness.

The swim school also raised money for charity. The money raised in Secunda will be donated to the Lake Umuzi Charity Fund.

Alisha Lumley and Theresa Gray from Aqua Antics Water Fitness took hands with Jacqui Bosch from Jacqui’s Water Aerobics to host the event this year.

These three instructors took the participants through their paces for three hours.

A total of 71 countries in 223 swimming pools took part in this year’s Aquathon.

People take part in the Aquathon held at Aquazone at Lake Umuzi on Saturday, 9 November.
