SECUNDA – Sibisi Mtsamayi was the first man to finish the Secunda parkrun on Saturday, 18 January.
He completed the 5km fun run in 18 min 11 sec.
Pienaar Janse van Rensburg was second in a time of 19 min 30 sec while Caylin Loock was the first woman to complete the fun run in a time of 23 min 33 sec.
George-Nico Fouché finished fourth in 23 min 50 sec and Dean Moore fifth in 23 min 59 sec.
All together 539 runners and walkers took part in the parkrun on Saturday and according to one of the organisers, this is the most people so far to take part in this event.
There were 71 runners and walkers that completed the parkrun for the first time and 58 athletes achieved their personal best times.
The organisers thanked the volunteers who made the day possible.
