Jannie Nichols scores the best gross of 73 at country club
Nichols’ best gross of 73 in the January Mug of Mugs declared him as winner.
Golfers arrived on Saturday, 9 January to compete in the Monthly Mug and Mug of Mugs at the Standerton Country Club, crowning Jannie Nichols as winner with his gross of 73.
The heat was a factor that every participant had to take into account.
Gerrit Coetzee ended first in the A-division with a nett of 73 and Nico Lombard first in the B-division with a nett of 70.
Fanie Botha scored 39 points in the C-division and RJ Kinnear won the junior division with a nett of 78. Patrizia Lombard took the honours for the women in the B-division with a nett of 79 and Julene Willemse in the C-division with 26 points.
Nichols’ best gross of 73 in the January Mug of Mugs declared him as winner. Ronald Kinnear was first in the A-division with a nett of 71, followed by Attie van der Westhuizen with a nett of 71.
Tertius Brits won the B-division with a nett of 65, followed by Vaatjie van Rensburg with a nett of 67.
Botha scored 39 points in the C-division and Jacques Scholtz 36 points.
RJ Kinnear ended first in the junior division with his nett of 78 and Patrizia Lombard first in the B-division for the women with a nett of 79.
Willemse scored 26 points in the C-division.
Van der Westhuizen managed three two-clubs and Nichols, Werndley Eksteen, Andrew Harper, Innocent Dhladhla, Joré Nortjé, Jacques Ferreira, Gerrie Saayman, Aldo Arnaldi, Ian Harper, Lourie Nel, Botha as well as Pieter Bester a two-club.
