Parkruns in Bronkhorstspruit and Delmas the area promise lots of fun
Both parkrun events also encourage members of the public to join the funfilled mornings and to help at the events as volunteers.
The Bronkhorstspruit and Red Star Raceway parkruns are weekly community events, for the community and within the community, free of charge and promises lots of fun for families, the young and old, fit and unfit.
Participants can walk, run, jog or serve as a volunteer in the 5km parkrun. Spectators are also more than welcome to stick around.
The Bronkhorstspruit parkrun takes place every Saturday and starts at 08:00. The new start and finish point for the Bronkies parkrun is at the Ubuhle Christian School.
During the previous Bronkhorstspruit parkrun, which took place on Saturday, December 3, 29 participants joined the fun-filled morning in Bronkhorstspruit.
Bronkhorstspruit parkrun thanked André de Lange, Cornel Kotze, Despina Rockas, Filia Rockas, Leon Strydom, Mahlatse Maphake and Matteo who served as volunteers during the Bronkies parkrun.
“Bronkhorstspruit parkrun happens largely because of our fantastic volunteers, who are almost all regular runners like you.
“The weekly team of volunteers is led by a small group of parkrun enthusiasts who form what we call the ‘core team’.
“They make sure the event is set up and packed away each week, the results published, the tokens resorted, event reports written and so much more,” said event director, André de Lange.
“We are grateful for the help provided by everyone, both now and in the past, who have helped make Bronkhorstspruit parkrun happen.”
The Red Star parkrun takes place at the Red Star Raceway, just off the N12 in an eastern direction.

During Red Star’s last event, which also took place on Saturday, December 3, Britanni Grasmann, Doris Dondur, Jackie Grassman, Keagen Grasmann and Neo Nyathi served as volunteers with 19 participants in total.
For the Red Star parkrun it was a special day of celebration as one of the participants, Claire Schipholt, completed her 100th run on the day. The public is encouraged to join in the weekly fun in Bronkhorstspruit or the Red Star Raceway near Delmas.
Volunteering at a parkrun is a change to get outside, make new friends, have fun, learn new skills, and be a valuable part of your local community.
