Secunda fighter takes part in first international fight

Fighters of Dominators Den excel at championship.

Vince Bembe, a fighter of Dominators Den Mixed Martial Arts Club, took part in his first international fight on Saturday, July 15.

His fight against Keir Harvie from Scotland ended in a draw.

Bembe’s coach, Cedric Doyle, said there was much controversy about this fight, but the result remains and is what is most important.

“We move on and in our hearts, we know that Bembe was the winner,” said Doyle.

“He is a super humble guy who keeps his head down and he works hard at his professional MMA career.

“He has a bright MMA career ahead of him.”

Doyle thanked their main sponsor, Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club, as well as Max Tyres and Lumé Brits Physical Therapist.

Four of Dominators Den’s other fighters also competed and excelled in the Mixed Martial Arts South African Championship held in Brakpan on Saturday, July 23.

Johan ‘The Word Warrior’ van Schaik got a gold medal.

He achieved this title, making him the best heavy-weight fighter in South Africa after he won his fight against Andile Matlaba of KwaZulu-Natal.

David ‘The Wolf’ Makane finished second.

Doyle said he had great fights and will be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

Jarrod Harty, a junior fighter, lost his fight in the first round already.

Doyle said, however, that he showed amazing heart and he is proud of him and his other fighters.
