Golden Eagle Club wins Women’s Day tournament in Rethabiseng

A total of nine clubs took part.

In commemoration of Women’s Day, the Golden Eagle Netball Club hosted a friendly tournament for various clubs from the region.

The event took place in Rethabiseng on Tuesday, August 9.

A total of nine clubs took part.

The Golden Eagles were the champions of the tournament.

Phaphama Netball Club from Zithobeni was second, Dynamite Divas third, Rockstars fourth and Bronkhorstspruit Netball Club fifth.

Rising Stars finished sixth, DC Strangers seventh, Tswelopele eighth and Proper Girls ninth. These four clubs all hail from Ekangala District.

“We thank all the players who participated in the tournament, as well as the supporters and spectators who made the day special.

“We wish all the teams the best until we meet again,” said David Mahlangu, chairperson for the Golden Eagle Netball Club.

“Netball is a passion and brings people together to be united in sport. We are all in it for the love of our sport,” Mahlangu concluded.
