Locals are ready to go at parkrun in Standerton

Chuhla Phago completed the route in a time of 19:49, followed by Thapelo Mahlangu, a first-timer, who ended in a time of 22:26.

A total of 68 participants arrived for the parkrun on Saturday, August 20 where seven athletes improved their times and eight first-timers joined.

Chuhla Phago crossed the finish line in a time of 19:52, while Thapelo Mahlangu completed the distance in 20:25, a new personal best.

Jacques Ferreira crossed the finish line in 21:16.

Charl van Wyk, Ina Herselman, Jennifer Naidoo, Johannes Vosloo, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Renette de Sousa, Ronnie Moodley, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Sylvy Moodley, Theo Schönfeldt and Vanita Moodley ensured a safe event.

A total of 79 participants were ready to go on Saturday, August 13 at 08:00 at the Standerton River Park.The distance of 5km at the parkrun saw six athletes improving their times and six first-timers joining.

Phago completed the route in a time of 19:49, followed by Mahlangu, a first-timer, who ended in a time of 22:26.

Mbuso Mazibuko crossed the finish line in 25:14, while Junior Mudau’s time was 26:20 and Brendan Archer’s 27:06.

Charlene Geyser, Charmain Kleynhans, Elmien Vermaak, Frans Vermaak, Hugh Robertson, Vosloo, JP Kleynhans, Jean Robertson, Marjorie Uys, Preyanka Dorasamy, De Sousa, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg and Schönfeldt facilitated a smooth event.
