Blue Bottle Barbarians and Holmdene come out tops in league in Standerton
In the business league matches on Sunday, September 4 Eagle Solar will compete against Holmdene at 10:30 and Sky Rockets against Blue Bottle Barbarians at 13:30.
Blue Bottle Barbarians won the T20-match against Eagle Solar by 61 runs on Sunday, August 28 at the Piet van den Berg-oval in Standerton.
The winning team put up a score of 203/3, while their opponents had to be satisfied with 142/7.
Eagle Solar opted to bowl and Hendré Naudé scored 78 off 32 deliveries, Solly van Rensburg 55 off 51 deliveries and Jan-Dirk van Dyk 39 off 36 deliveries.
The figures of bowlers Werner Mouton, Elpee Jordaan and Andrew van Rensburg stood respectively at 2/33, 1/60 and 0/14.
Once in front of the wicket, Eagle Solar’s batsmen had to make do with Estienne du Toit’s 53 off 47 deliveries, Riaad’s 27 off 19 deliveries and Jordaan’s 16 off eight deliveries.
The bowling attack of Quintin Kruger, Van Rensburg and Naudé culminated respectively in 2/17, 2/23 and 1/20.
Holmdene won their match by 26 runs against Sky Rockets the same day after a score of 204/1.
Sky Rockets put up 178/9 in 20 overs.
Holmdene opted to bat and Kai Daniel scored 91 off 62 deliveries, PJ Venter 72 off 49 deliveries and Billy Lyons 10 off 12 deliveries.
Theunis Snyders bowling figures reflected 1/36, Zeeshaan 0/10 and Ruan 0/27.
Sky Rockets’ batsmen Brandon scored 35 off 21 deliveries, Marco Meintjies 20 off 13 deliveries and Douglas Richardson 20 off 13 deliveries.
