Govan Mbeki darts players awarded at Mpumalanga Darts Federation prize-giving
Govan Mbeki’s Danielle Lombard walked away with the Junior Sports Girl of the Year award, as well as the Junior Player of the Year and also the Most Improved Player of the Year.
The Mpumalanga Darts Federation hosted its 2022 season prize-giving ceremony at the Purple Plum in Sundra on Saturday, August 13.
The federation honoured its men, women and youngsters for a season well done in the sport of darts.
Association teams that participated during the 2022 season were Victor Khanye, Msukaligwa, Mbombela, Emakhazeni, Steve Tshwete, Mbombela, Govan Mbeki and Emalahleni.

The MDF prize-giving was attended by the committee with the president, Freddie Burmeister, the vice-president, Arthur Oberholzer, the financial director, Rees Naidoo, the tournament director, and Maryna
Burmeister, the secretary, Karen Naidoo as well as the public relations development officer, Stefan Smit.
Govan Mbeki’s Danielle Lombard walked away with the Junior Sports Girl of the Year award, as well as the Junior Player of the Year and also the Most Improved Player of the Year.
She was also awarded first place in the Juniors Mixed Doubles with Jason Barnard of Msukaligwa and also placed third in the Juniors Singles category.
Anna-Marie Lezar was awarded first place in the Master Women’s Champion Singles.

She was also placed second in the Women’s Champion Singles.
In the Men’s Champion Singles, local Morne Fourie was placed second.
Leslie Naidoo and Mac McLaren claimed third place in the Men’s Champion Doubles.
Walter Lange was awarded the Highest Closes Men with 160.

The Most 180’s went to Leslie Naidoo with 20 for the year.
Most Improved Player for Govan Mbeki was awarded to Heloise McLaren, with the Master Player of the Year award going to Anna-Marie Lezar.
Mac McLaren received an award for the Master Sportsman of the Year.
