Free event at river park in Standerton attracts 74 participants
Tshiamo Lephoto reached the finish line at the Standerton River Park in a time of 17:17, followed by Sifiso Siphamandla in 17:54.
Seventy-four participants lined up for the parkrun on January 28 at 08:00.
Seven athletes improved their times and 10 new faces were seen.

Mthokozisi Tshwala completed the 5km in 21:12, while Johan Ferreira crossed the line in 23:10.
Deon Steynberg registered 27:10 and Theo Schönfeldt followed in 27:13.
Nina Pretorius took part in her 50th parkrun and clocked 27:47, followed by Wikus Pretorius in 27:48, who also ran his 50th event.
Likewise, Brendan Archer completed his 50th in 30:18, followed by Katleho Sebiloane in 31:49, who achieved a personal best. Rika Bezuidenhout’s time was 32:29.
Elmien Vermaak, Frans Vermaak, Jennifer Naidoo, Johannes Vosloo, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Jean Robertson, Marius Kilian, Preyanka Dorasamy, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Sylvy Moodley and Willy Smith took up positions to ensure a smooth and safe event.
