92 participants line up at Standerton River Park

Themba Mbatha completed the distance in a time of 22:30, a new personal best, followed by a first-timer, Ruan Boshoff who registered 24:07.

Run director Lizette Jansen van Rensburg gave the rules of the parkrun to 92 participants on January 27 just before 08:00.

This free event at the Standerton River Park offers the opportunity to run, jog or walk, aiming to compete against yourself.

Altogether 10 participants improved their times and five new faces were seen.

Themba Mbatha completed the distance in a time of 22:30, a new personal best, followed by a first-timer, Ruan Boshoff

who registered 24:07 and Welcome Ndlangisa who recorded 24:47.

Wassie Rossouw crossed the finish line in 25:54, followed by Delaney Grobbelaar, who came in at 26:57 in her 50th event.

Other times were as follows: Pieter Grobbelaar (27:54), Thikolelwi Mudau (28:38), first-timer William Abrhams (29:19),

Jané van Niekerk (29:50), Wendy Theron (31:53), Jose Joseph (32:33) and Andre Ainsworth (33:30, 50th event).
