Constraints on City Power result in outages

JOHANNESBURG – The cold front that has hit Johannesburg has led to more demand of electricity, causing strain on the City's power supply.

Due to extremely cold weather conditions and high electricity demand, City Power is experiencing network constraints that have resulted in unplanned outages.

The following areas are currently off :

  • Hurlingham
  • Parktown
  • Braamfontein
  • Braampark.

They continue to urge all consumers to use electricity sparingly and switch off geysers and other appliances that are not in use, as the network is still constrained. City Power will keep affected customers updated as and when new information becomes available.
