‘Rosebank; a better place, your place’

ROSEBANK – Unveiling ceremony held by management districts for both Rosebank and Lower Rosebank as new developments bring significant changes in the area.

Notable developments are taking place in Rosebank and with those comes the need for higher security measures. The management districts for both Rosebank and Lower Rosebank came together to launch their new logo and public brand identity at an unveiling ceremony outside The Zone.

Chairperson of Lower Rosebank Management District, Jed Aylmer said the developments in the precinct had brought with them significant changes with the growth of new restaurants, shops and other buildings.

He said these activities can also make the precinct a target for criminals which the management district is taking steps to prevent while it’s still early. He said the districts have been working on challenging urban degeneration and uplifting the public space. Part of this plan includes a major overhaul to the security and cleaning compliment which has been deployed to the streets of Rosebank.

“Rosebank has long required representatives on the street that will double up efforts to ensure the pavements and streets are clean, the area has lower crime levels and stakeholders and guests can get directions and assistance,” said Alymer.

“We welcome to the streets a team of Rosebank ambassadors who have been tasked with such a challenge. They will be undergoing strenuous and in-depth training over the next few weeks to ensure they meet our requirements.

“This team will be supported by the deployment of highly trained security officers who will support this team with three dedicated reaction vehicles. Our cleaning efforts will also be supported by a dedicated on-site vehicle.

“Rosebank will, for the first time, have a team of dedicated gardeners to ensure our public parks and green belts are maintained.”

Aylmer extended his gratitude to the board of the management district, service provider Excellerate stakeholders – for without them this ‘would just be a dream’ – and to Lerato Khiba who joined as Excellerate’s public space manager about a month ago but who was already doing significant changes in the precinct. The chairperson said they would also launch maps through ‘Rosebank in your pocket’ with a multi-pronged approach and social media campaigns on safety awareness. The launch was accompanied by the slogan, ‘ Rosebank; a better place, your place’ with promises of more projects to come.
