The Colours of a Woman March

The Colours of a Woman March will be led by artists, politicians, businesswomen, women, men and children of South Africa. The March is aimed at recreating the Women’s March of 1956 with 5,000 people, demonstrating unity and support of our Nation in raising awareness for the following five causes speaking to the plight of Young Women:

Abuse of all forms: Yellow;

Menstrual Dignity: Purple;

Basic Education: Blue;

Human Trafficking: Green and

Teenage Pregnancy: Pink

A petition will be signed by all attendees and handed to the Justices of the Constitutional Court, as key stakeholders presiding over the highest court in the Land.

The day ends of with the Colours of a Woman Festival from 11h00-17h00 at a fee of R150 (R100 if you participated in the March), which will combine a colourful mixture of the arts, culture and heritage of women, though platforms for women, by women of:

Arts, craft and fashion market

Organisations that represent women’s causes

Food stalls

Music & live performances

All of this will complemented by a music concert from 11h00-17h00 at the Women’s Gaol to allow women and men to showcase their talents.
