Constitution Hill Youth Wing Leadership Debate
Constitution Hill, a beacon of democracy, human rights and constitutionalism, will be hosting its first annualYouth Wing Leadership Debate in celebration of Youth Month and 20 years of Democracy. Youth wing party leaders will be pitted against each other in a knock-out debate competition until we have a winner!
With the National Elections now behind us, this debate provides a platform for the political parties to spell out in practice what they promised with vim and vigour during the election campaigns, specifically where it concerns youth unemployment. More importantly, this debate offers an opportunity for the youth to engage with the parties in a much more meaningful way as the challenges facing the country’s youth are tackled. Panellists will have to face probing and sometimes even difficult questions from the moderator as well as the audience around what the actual action plans are over the next 5 years towards making economic freedom a measurable, accountable and realistic reality for our country’s youth. Through this initiative, panellists will get an opportunity to put their party’s best foot forward and pledge their commitment to the values of the constitution whilst showcasing what matters most to our youth: a benchmarked youth employment strategy with timelines.
