Community rescues robbery victim

Police spokesperson Constable Thabo Malatji said the men committed the crime at the corner of Yeo and Carvendish streets at about 7 pm.

“The victim was walking from work when he was approached by the two suspects,” said Malatji. “They threatened him and tried to rob him of his belongings.”

Malatji added that the community members noticed the incident and tried to rescue the victim.

“They managed to apprehend the suspects and alerted the police.”

The suspects are expected to appear in court.

“We would like to thank the members of the community and encourage them to work with the police.”
