Limpopo firearm recovered in Hillbrow

According to police the gun was found in possesion of a man who allegedly tried to rob a member of the public at the corner of Fife and Soper streets. Police spokesperson Constable Mduduzi Zondo said the police were on routine patrol when they were approached by a man who told them that there was someone carrying a gun who tried to rob him. Zondo said while the police were looking for the suspect they heard a gunshot.

He said police found the suspect and searched him and found a gun.

The 22-year-old suspect was arrested and charged for being in possession of a stolen firearm. He was expected to appear at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court.
