Police nab two business robbers
Hilbrow police arrested two suspects following a robbery of a business involving eight men.
The police said five men stormed a hair salon at the intersection of Caroline and Twist Streets, while three remained outside. Police spokesperson Constable Mduduzi Zondo said the suspects allegedly gunpointed the workers and demanded money. Zondo said, “The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money and cellphones from staff and clients before fleeing the scene, police who were nearby were alerted and gave chase.” Zondo said two suspects were arrested and four cellphones were recovered.
The suspects were expected to appear at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon while the other six were still at large. Zondo said, “We are still following the leads on the remaining six suspects and hope to make arrests very soon.”
