Woman robbed outside her home

NORWOOD - Police are searching for three suspects who robbed a woman at gunpoint outside her Houghton home.

Police spokesperson Constable Nonzwakazi Tsoanyane said the woman returned to her home on 13th Avenue after dropping her daughter off at a nearby school. She was allegedly approached by three male suspects who were armed with guns and wearing balaclavas.

“One of the suspects came to her window, and at gunpoint demanded that she remove all her jewellery and said she must do so quickly. Another suspect took her handbag which was on the passenger side floor,” said Tsoanyane.

The suspects allegedly took all her jewellery, iPhone, bank cards and cash. Tsoanyane said the total value of the stolen items was R30 000.

She appealed to community members who may have information that could lead to the apprehension of the suspects to come forward.
