Woman scammed of R5 000

BRAMELY - Police have warned members of the public against a bogus officer.

This followed after a woman was scammed of R5 000 by the man who claimed he was stationed in Broklyn Police Station.According to police, the man, who referred to himself as Captain Manamela phoned the woman whose husband was in custody and promised he would ‘deal with the case swiftly’ if she made a deposit into his bank account.

The station warned members of the public against individuals who pose as law enforcers.

The suspect has been released and a case has been opened against the bogus officer at the Bramely Police Station.
