Youths robbed by armed suspect

EMMARENTIA – Parkview police are searching for an armed suspect who robbed four young boys on the morning of 24 February at Emmarentia Dam.

The four boys, aged between 13 and 14, were riding their bicycles around the Canoe Club, when they were allegedly robbed by an armed male suspect who was described as fairly short, as well as having a slight build and scars on his face.

The suspect took the boys’ valuables including cellphones, and he allegedly threatened to “blow their brains out,” if they resisted. They were unharmed and no shots were fired during the incident.

The suspect allegedly had an accomplice who was the driver of a red Ford Fiesta.

Colonel Nanda Moodley of the Parkview Police Station confirmed the incident had been reported and police were investigating the matter.

Moodley appealed to anyone who has information that could lead to an arrest to come forward.
