Rosebank police apprehended two suspects for attempted house robbery in Parkwood on 9 March.

Rosebank police spokesperson Sergeant Bongi Mdlethse said a neighbour who was cycling on Glamorgan Street noticed two suspicious males entering a property and heard the sound of a window breaking.

“The neighbour called security company, ADT to alert them of the break-in,” said Mdletshe. As security officers responded, the suspects tried to flee the scene, however they were apprehended.

“Police were called to the scene and arrested the suspects, aged 23 and 31,” he added.

Police recovered two knives from the suspects before arresting them. They appeared in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court on charges of attempted robbery and were remanded in custody. “They will reappear soon for a formal bail application,” said Mdletshe.
