I read with interest The Gazette’s article on the front page “Social media power” (published week ending 21 March) regarding the injured puppy.
While it is wonderful that the community pulled together to help the dog, Facebook should be used to name and shame the despicable owners of the puppy. These people are a menace to animals.
I have spoken to the vet who saved the dog, and have been told that these people have already purchased a new puppy. Although the SPCA have been notified and have put these people on their watchlist, apparently they have a history of cruelty to animals.
The Facebook community should post about these people, and they should be aware that the community is watching them.
These people do not deserve the privilege of having a dog in their lives.
