Parks residents warned about robberies

Considering the recent spate of armed house robberies which have taken place in the parks, Parkview police spokesperson Princess Mudau has issued a warning for residents to be more vigil.

Mudau said there has not been a high increase in house robberies but there has been an evident continuance of the crime on weekly basis.

She advised more residents not to take for granted the eminent danger of break-ins because they are at home.

“People need to make sure that they lock their doors even if they are inside the house – both during the day and night,” she warned.

“When opening their gates, home owners and their employees need to ensure that it is safe to open for whoever is ringing the bell.”

Mudau emphasised the importance of home owners keeping their grass short.

“People are also advised to cut off the long weeds that grow next to their gate and around their houses,” she added.
