Man assaults pregnant girlfriend

Norwood police have opened a case of assault against a man who beat up his pregnant girlfriend.

According to police spokesperson, Constable Nonzwakazi Tsoanyane, the man came home from work and ordered the woman to leave their home. “He said she should pack her bags and leave and when she refused, he slapped and punched her,” said Tsoanyane.

The woman sustained minor injuries and investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, in another incident, police arrested two men aged 30 and 40.

Tsoanyane said the men worked at a petrol station in Oaklands and were found to be scamming customers using skimming devices. “The men were also found with

R7 500 in their possession,” she said.

The suspects have been charged with fraud.
