Burglar sentenced to seven years

PARKTOWN NORTH – The sentencing of house robber has been welcomed by the Parkview police.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Lloyd Ramovha said 31-year-old Jonathan van Rensburg had been convicted to seven years’ imprisonment at the Johanneburg Magistrate’s Court after he was found guilty of housebreaking and theft.

The incident happened on 5 January at a home on 3rd Avenue in Parktown North, and Van Rensburg was sentenced five months later on 28 May.

“The successful sentencing can be attributed to the diligence and professionalism displayed by detective Constable Edwin Gadivhana in his investigations and testimony,” said Ramovha.

“We are proud to have Detective Constable Gadivhana in our ranks.”
