The blazer is the highest form of acknowledgement awarded at the school. The Colours Committee only awards it when an individual of exceptional calibre has made significant contributions to the school through notable success in all three areas of school life; culture, sport and academics.
Momoniat, who joined the school in 2010 as a Grade 8 pupil, has full colours in all three.
In sports, he has had significant achievements in swimming and completed the Midmar Mile. He has also had outstanding results in athletics including the 800m, 1 500m and cross country.
The Grade 12 pupil has also been exceptional in school culture. He was part of the schools’ drama society, participated in acting, monologue, eisteddfod, unprepared reading and was part of a dancing group, walking away with numerous awards.
Despite excelling in sports and culture, Momoniat has not neglected his academics. Momoniat has been in the top 20 academic group since Grade 8 and was second overall last year. He has also participated in science and maths Olympiads and the ABSA general knowledge quiz.
Momoniat has also been an effective leader and was elected into the Representative Council of Learners and also served as its executive council treasurer.
