Hole in one for charity
MODDERFONTEIN - Golfers played their part in supporting the elderly at Rand Aid's annual golf day.
A full field of eager golfers took to the greens at the Modderfontein Golf Course on 19 September, raising funds in support of Rand Aid. A day of healthy competition saw the team of OHS Academy taking first place with 99 points, while a team from Servest scooped second prize.
John Robinson, chairman of the Rand Aid board commented that the golfers who took part in the event each year played a significant role, alongside the non-profit organisation’s sponsors, in allowing Rand Aid to continue its charitable work supporting the elderly of eastern Johannesburg.
Taking first place was the team from OHS Academy, with 99 points. Pictured receiving their prizes from Robinson (second from right) are Reg Combrink (Rand Aid), Nick Matzopoulos (OHS), Wim Pieterse (Rand Aid) and Marius Fourie (OHS).
Cooking on the day was the team from Servest, who came in second. Pictured with their prizes are Rob Jackson, Tony Rubin and Karl Jaacks. The other member of the fourball, Mano Siquero, was not present when the photograph was taken. Jaacks also won the Nearest the Pin prize.
Karl Jaacks (Servest) received the prize for Nearest the Pin.
Recording the Longest Drive of the day was Pieter Hoeksma (Nupower Energy Solutions).
