
The school obtained a 100 percent pass rate and teachers and pupils were thrilled. “It’s been a tough year and I am extremely proud of the fact that we got 100 percent pass rate this year,” said Mrs Reynolds, the director of Grade 12 studies at the school.
The school obtained a total of 224 distinctions and many pupils were quick to add that they were planning on getting a remark for some of their exam papers, “I have five distinctions for now, yet I want a remark for English as I only received 79 percent,” said Kamohelo Tsosane who received five distinctions for mathematics, life-orientation, accounting, I.T and Life sciences. Tsosane plans to study accounting science at the University of the Witwatersrand or the University of Cape Town.
Among the top achievers was also Stephen Baxter who obtained eight distinctions. Baxter who was with his very excited parents plans on studying Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Cape Town. Joining Baxter in the Cape is Garrick Blok who received seven distinctions and he plans on completing an accounting and law degree at the University of Stellenbosch. With an 85.09 exemption pass rate received, many pupils agreed that they planned on studying further.
