BREAKING NEWS: R400k reward for cop killers from N3 shoot out

JOBURG - Following the N3 shoout out over the weekend, police are offering R400,000 for information that can lead them to the suspects involved.

UPDATE: A memorial service will be held for the two policemen that were killed at the Methodist Church (corner of Victoria and Queen Alexandra roads, Lombardy East) at 9am.

During a press briefing held earlier this afternoon about the dramatic shoot out on the N3 over the weekend which resulted in two South African Police officers tragically losing their lives and leaving one critical in hospital, Major General Teko Pharasi of SAPS announced that a reward of R400 000,00 is being offered to anyone who can lead the police to the suspects involved in the shooting. They will also offer the reward to anyone who can lead them to the killer of Constable Frans Ledwaba who was shot dead at Park Station last week.

Colonel Noxolo Kweza of SAPS said, “Currently no arrests have been made in connection with the N3 shootout. Two of the police officers that was injured during the shoot out has been killed and the third remains in a critical condition in hospital.”

Three police officers were shot and wounded near the Modderfontein exit on the N3 South on Sunday.

The three officers were airlifted to hospital and it is believed that one of the police officer’s was shot in the head.
